Exemptions

Exemptions are types of assistance that allow some Texas Residents to attend a public college or university without paying for some portion of their tuition and fees. In some instances the waivers are reimbursement programs and once the school receives the award the student will be reimbursed for paying his balance.

Examples of these exemptions are the Blind/Deaf Exemption, Foster Child Exemption, Hazlewood Exemption and the Early High School Graduate Scholarship. Please see the Financial Aid Office or www.collegeforalltexans.com to get more information about exemptions.

Note: Hazlewood Exemption programs have undergone several changes. You are now required to re-apply each semester for the exemption.

Waivers

Some students who are not Texas Residents may be eligible to have portions of their tuition and or fees waived.

An example of a waiver is the Good Neighbor Scholarship. Please see the Financial Aid Office or www.collegeforalltexans.com for more information about waivers.
