Meeting was called to order at 2:05 p.m.
- Approval of Minutes: Minutes from October 21, 2014 were approved as written.
- Old Business:
- Jim Richardson withdrew Maintenance Request #479.
- Greg Lattier withdrew Maintenance Requests #486 and #487.
- New Business:
- Karen Guthmiller proposed adding a new course KINE 1308 to the Kinesiology of Coaching and Sports degree. A motion was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Paul Arrigo. Motion carried. (Req. #456)
- Jim Richardson withdrew Maintenance Request #518.
- Jim Richardson proposed changing the course requisite on ELPT 1455 and ELPT 2319 to read: Prerequisite: ELPT 1411. A motion was made by Rod Hellyer and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. (Req. #519, 520)
- Jim Richardson proposed adding PHYS 1407 to the Electrical Technology degree. A motion was made by Paul Arrigo and seconded by Stewart Edwards. Motion carried. (Req. #546)
- Jim Richardson proposed removing ELPT 1419 from the catalog. Jim Richardson proposed removing ELPT 1411 from the Electrical Construction degree. A motion was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Karen Guthmiller. Motion carried. (Reqs. #523, 524)
- Jim Richardson proposed adding new courses ELPT 1315, ELPT 2315 and ELPT 1457 to the Electrical Construction certificate. A motion was made by Paul Arrigo and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. (Reqs. #525, 526, 527)
- Jim Richardson proposed a new certificate in Certificate of Specialization-Electrical, Instrumentation, and Analytical. A motion was made by Stewart Edwards and seconded by Tia Hall. Motion carried. (Req. #528)
- Greg Lattier proposed removing three hours of Creative Arts/Language, Philosophy, and Culture and GOVT 2306 from the Business Administration degree plan. A motion was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Tia Hall. Motion carried. (Req. #535)
- David Jaroszewski proposed placing asterisks after the following courses listed in the Legal Assistance degree and certificate: LGLA 1301, LGLA 1355, LGLA 1351, LGLA 1345, LGLA 2309, LGLA 2333 and LGLA 2389. A motion was made by Tia Hall and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. (Req. #491)
- David Jaroszewski proposed removing ENGL 2311 from the Administrative Technology degree. A motion was made by Paul Arrigo and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. (Req. #496)
- Keith Coleman proposed a new Certificate of Completion in Logistical Operations Management. A motion was made by Tia Hall and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. (Req. #532)
- Tracy Allen proposed a new course RNSG 2307 in the Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing. A motion was made by Karen Guthmiller and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. After discussion, Tracy Allen withdrew Maintenance Request #501.
- Tracy Allen withdrew Maintenance Requests #500 and #530.
- Tracy Allen proposed to remove RNSG 1247 from the Nursing degree plan and catalog. A motion was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Rod Hellyer. Motion carried. (Req. #502)
- Tracy Allen withdrew Maintenance Request #529.
- Tracy Allen proposed changing the requisites for RNSG 1262 to read: ADM to RN or RNT program, RNSG 1205, 1261, 1413, BIOL 2402, BIOL 2421, PSYC 2314, RNSG 2307 (RNT only); Co-requisite: RNSG 1343, 2161, 2201. A motion was made by Stewart Edwards and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. (Req. #531)
- David Jaroszewski presented for Dana Byal. Dr. David Jaroszewski proposed removing ENGT 2307 from the Process Piping Design degree. A motion was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Paul Arrigo. After discussion, Dr. David Jaroszewski tabled Maintenance Request #503.
- David Jaroszewski proposed removing TECM 1349 from the following degrees and certificates: Process Piping degree, Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology degree and certificate, Computer Aided Drafting and Design Advanced Technology certificate, Architectural Construction and Building Technology certificate. A motion was made by Karen Guthmiller and seconded by Tia Hall. Motion carried. (Reqs. #504, 505, 506, 507, 508)
- Tia Hall proposed updating the requisites on PHYS 1405 and PHYS 1407 to remove ‘or equivalent’ and replace with TECM 1349. A motion was made by Rod Hellyer and seconded by Stewart Edwards. After discussion, Tia Hall tabled Maintenance Requests #510, 511
- Roberta McClure proposed increasing the semester credits hours to four for COSC 2325. A motion was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Karen Guthmiller. Motion carried. (Req. #514)
- Roberta McClure proposed replacing COSC 2325 with COSC 2425 in the Field of Study for Computer Science. A motion was made by Tia Hall and seconded by Paul Arrigo. Motion carried. (Req. #515)
- Roberta McClure proposed removing 3 credit hours of the social science requirement and adding a general elective of one to three credit hours to the Field of Study in the Computer Science program. A motion was made by Joseph Ganakos and seconded by Stewart Edwards. Motion carried. (Req. #516, 517)
- Michael Gos presented for Gordon Lee. Michael Gos proposed adding DRAM 2366 to the core options for Creative Arts. A motion was made by Karen Guthmiller and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. After discussion, Michael Gos withdrew Maintenance Request #541.
- Charles Thomas proposed providing an either/or for the Natural Science elective; PHYS XXXX or CHEM 1419 in the Process Technology degree. A motion was made by Tia Hall and seconded by Rod Hellyer. Motion carried. (Req. #542)
- Charles Thomas proposed removing the PTAC elective from the Safety Management Technology certificate. A motion was made by Paul Arrigo and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. (Req. #543)
- Charles Thomas proposed removing PTAC 1302 from the AAS degree and Certification of Completion of the Manufacturing Engineering program. A motion was made by Stewart Edwards and seconded by Joseph Ganakos. Motion carried. (Req. #544, 545)
- Open Forum:
Paul Arrigo reminded committee members about completing the Library Services Survey.
Michael Gos reminded committee members that the meeting in February will be the last meeting for fall 2015 catalog changes.
Joseph Ganakos announced the Lee College debaters are continuing to dominate the 2014-15 competition season.
