Enjoy free personalized tutoring and supplemental instruction; cozy study spaces with pods, couches, and collaboration stations; plus computer access; a family-friendly room for student parents; and free printing (10 pages/day) — all on the first floor of the Student Center.


GabrielAbout Gabriel: My name is Gabriel V. Estrada, a chemical engineering major at the University of Houston. I became a Tutor because I enjoy education and sharing my passion for math, chemistry, and physics. Helping others understand these subjects so they can continue their academic paths gives me happiness and purpose. I plan to go into automation and become a consultant.

Pathway: STEM

AshleyAbout Ashley: My name is Ashley Rogers, a biology major planning to transfer to UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for a bachelor’s in medical laboratory sciences. I became an SI Coach to support students in math, statistics, biology, and humanities. I believe asking questions builds understanding, and I love encouraging students to use resources and gain confidence in their learning.

Pathway: STEM and Liberal & Fine Arts

GiselleAbout Giselle: My name is Giselle Vargas, I major in Process Technology and I’m hoping to become a refinery operator after graduating. I became a Tutor because I get to connect with my peers on an academic level. Though the field is competitive, it gives us a chance to network and share information about the field while also working towards the same goal. Some advice I would give to Lee College students is to be confident in their knowledge and to persevere the best they can!

RachelAbout Rachel: My name is Rachel Roche, an engineering student and SI Coach for physics and chemistry. I also tutor math and general chemistry. I love being an SI Coach because helping others succeed in their classes and dreams is rewarding. SI sessions not only expand student understanding but also deepen my own, making learning a shared experience.

EmilyAbout Emily: My name is Emily Beacham, an English/Literature major for secondary education. I recently transferred to UHCL and plan to become a high school teacher, then an English professor. I am an SI Coach for English and I love tutoring because it gives me experience for my future career and lets me help others. Seeing students understand something they’ve struggled with is the best part of this role.

JovanniAbout Jovanni: My name is Jovanni Pizarro, and I’m majoring in accounting with plans to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). I enjoy helping students understand the “why” behind each answer and guiding their thought process. I became a Tutor because it lets me connect with interesting students and support their growth. EveAbout Eve: My name is Eve Escarda, a biotechnology major and SI Coach for Physics. I became a tutor because I know how tough difficult material can be, and I enjoy helping students break down complex ideas into something understandable. Guiding others and seeing their progress is what I love most. I also tutor students 1-on-1 on Chemistry, Math, and Physics.
