Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated Sept. 15-Oct.15 at Lee College.

Planned Events

12-2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16: Kick-Off Celebration
Join us in the Student Center foyer for a sweet treat (while supplies last) to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month.

1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18: Puente's Career & Conversations
Dr. Amber Garza obtained her medical education at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and residency training at the Memorial Family Medicine Program in Sugarland. She is a board-certified family medicine physician who is passionate about the representation of the Hispanic community in the healthcare field.

Saturday, Sept. 28: 2024 Hispanic Heritage Show
Dinner at 5:30 p.m. — Doors open at 7 p.m. — Event begins at 7:30 p.m.
Join us for our annual show, featuring local performers. Tickets are $10, and dinner will be provided. Purchase a ticket at the Lee College Box Office, or purchase online.

1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2: First-Year Experience Loteria
Enjoy a game of loteria with First-Year Experience team members, peer mentors, and staff and faculty members. A staple in Hispanic culture, this bingo-style game will allow you to have fun and get to know those who work around campus. Prizes and refreshments while supplies last.

9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8: Puente's Career & Conversations
Priscilla Sanchez, a Latina and first-generation college graduate, believes in education's transformative power. With 17 years in higher education, she supports students and colleagues in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals. Priscilla is pursuing an Ed.D. in Leadership at Spalding University and holds a master's from LSU and a bachelor's from UTSA.

2:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8: Zumba
Get active, and dance to Latin/Hispanic music hosted by Carla's Toning & Cardio. This event will be held in the Rundell Hall Conference Center.
