The field of study in the Criminal Justice program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science Investigation, Criminal Investigations, Police, Courts, Corrections, Probation, or Parole, which are identified as the main components of the criminal justice system.

The curriculum has been adapted to meet the needs of students transferring into a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science program majoring in Criminal Justice.

The field of study courses will constitute a semester credit-hour transfer block to any public Texas four-year college or university.

What Will I Learn?

The criminal justice program introduces students to senior, experienced instructors who have gained valuable real-life knowledge in the field. Instructors will also instruct students on criminal investigations, patrol procedures, and forensic science investigations. In addition to classroom instruction, students actively learn law enforcement techniques and activities to enhance their professional opportunities with local, city, county, state, and federal agencies. An associate of arts degree with a criminal justice concentration prepares students to successfully transfer into a four-year college/university and pursue a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.
